Priam Psittaculture Centre was established in 1997 at the Silver Dawn Parrot farm near Bungendore, NSW, Australia.  

Priam Psittaculture Centre is a specialist breeding facility of Australian cockatoos and exotic parrots situated in 18 hectares of native eucalypt woodland with aviaries and associated facilities set within. The Centre has been established in an environment that aims to facilitate parrot research and conservation. The three main objectives of the organisation are:











 



 Priam Psittaculture Centre is an Associate Institutional Member of ARAZPA (Australasian Regional Association of Zoological Parks and Aquaria) and is a member of ISIS (International Species Information System).

The breeding facility’s design is based on world leading technologies and in accordance with the aims and objectives of CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).

Our special interest birds include threatened parrots of the world such as Glossy Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami), Caiques Pionites melanocephala), Double-yellow-headed Amazon (Amazona ochrocephala’ oratrix), Yellow-naped Amazon (Amazona ochrocephala parvipes), Panamensis yellow-crowned amazon (Amazona ochrocephala panamensis) and Red-fronted Macaw (Ara rubrogenys).
